This specimen was lot 78425 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $85. The catalog description[1] noted, "SEYCHELLES. 1/2 Rupee, 1939. George VI. NGC AU-58." This one year type is from the first series of coinage issued for the Seychelles in 1939, which also included a rupee, ten and twenty-five cent pieces. It is the only silver rupee from the islands and is somewhat scarce.

Recorded mintage: 36,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 5.83 g, 0.500 fine silver.
