Sincona sale 18, lot 3562

This specimen was lot 3562 in Sincona sale 18 (Zürich, May 2014), where it sold for CHF 4,500 (about US$5,929 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Dukat 1790. Selten. Fast vorzüglich. (canton of Schwyz, ducat of 1790, choice extremely fine.)"

This rare type is also noted for 1788.

Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, this specimen: 3.47 g.
