The first specimen was lot 1826 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 3,500 CHF (about US$4,625 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RDR / ÖSTERREICH, Schwarzenberg, Fürstentum, Johann Adolf, 1641-1683. Taler 1682, Wien. Walzenprägung. Stempelschneider Johann Michael Hofmann. Münzmeister Hans Conrad Richthausen. Sehr selten. Gutes sehr schön. Üblicher kleiner Stempelfehler. (Austrian states, principality of Schwarzenberg, John Adolf, 1641-83, thaler of 1682, Vienna mint. rotated dies. Very rare, Good very fine, Usual minor die flaw.)"

The second specimen was lot 909 in CNG Triton XXVIII (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $5,206.25. The catalog description[2] noted, "GERMANY, Schwarzenberg (Principality). Johann Adolf. 1646-1683. AR Taler. Wien (Vienna) mint. Dated 1682. Armored and draped bust right / Collared coat-of-arms surmounted by elector’s cap. Toned. In NGC encapsulation 2156453-001, graded MS 63. Rare. From the Alexander Christopher Collection." This thaler was struck in Vienna for the count of Schwarzenberg, distinguished more as a soldier in the Austrian service than as a sovereign prince. It was accompanied by a ducat (Fr-121). Altho Schwarzenberg is in Franconia, north of Bayreuth, the prince's major estates were in Bohemia.
