This specimen was lot 4363 in SINCONA Auction 98 (Zürich, May 2025), where it sold for 110 CHF (about US$160 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Schaffhausen, Groschen 1551, Schaffhausen. Mindere Jahreszahl (15)51. Rv. Doppeladler ohne Nimben, keine Wertzahl auf der Brust. Fast sehr schön. Wielandt unterscheidet die beiden Typen Doppeladler ohne und Doppeladler mit Wertzahl auf der Brust nicht. (Switzerland, canton of Schaffhausen, groschen of 1551, Schaffhausen mint, abbreviated date. About Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1550-63, 1574-87, 1590 and 1597-99 in round format. The 1597 is also known in klippe format and other dates may exist. At this time, one thaler made 24 groschen or 72 kreuzer.
