This specimen was lot 13252 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $822. The catalog description[2] noted, "ITALY. Savoy. Lira, 1562-P. NGC EF Details--Mount Removed. Emanuele Philiberto (1538-80). From the Demarete Collection." None of the silver or gold coins of Savoy of the sixteenth century can be called common. In 1714, the duke's successful participation in the War of the Spanish Succession garnered him the island of Sicily, which he traded for Sardinia in 1720.
