This specimen was lot 73471 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $70. The catalog description[1] noted, "RWANDA. 1/2 Franc, 1970. Kings Norton Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-66 Gold Shield. The only year of issue, this dazzling Gem presents tremendous radiance and brilliance, and is surpassed by just two examples in the PCGS census. Ex: Kings Norton Mint Collection." This was the only issue of this denomination, which has a low catalog value.

Recorded mintage: 5,000,000.

Specification: 0.70 g, aluminum, 16.1 mm diameter.
