Sincona sale 9, lot 3840

This specimen was lot 3840 in Sincona sale 9 (Zürich, October 2012), where it sold for 4,200 CHF (about US$5,312 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Rostock, Stadt Dukat 1783. Titel Josef II. Stadtwappen auf Eichenzweigen. Rv. Gekrönter, nimbierter Doppeladler mit Reichsapfel auf der Brust. Gutes vorzüglich. (Germany, city of Rostock, ducat of 1783, in the name of Joseph II; obverse: city arms; reverse: crowned, nimbate, double headed eagle with "reich apple" on the breast. Good extremely fine.)"

Another extremely rare issue.
