Reuss-Ebersdorf 1812-L thaler Dav-804
This specimen was lot 1146 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,400 (about US$1,809 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"REUSS-EBERSDORF, FÜRSTENTUM Heinrich LI. 1779-1822. Konv.-Taler 1812. Feine Patina, herrlicher Prägeglanz, fast vorzüglich. (Germany, principality of Reuss-Ebersdorf, Henry LI, 1779-1822, convention thaler of 1812, toned, lustrous, choice extremely fine.)"
This is the only thaler from this locale issued in the nineteenth century. Reuss-Ebersdorf merged with Reuss-Lobenstein to form Reuss-Ebersdorf-Lobenstein but then passed to Reuss-Schleiz in 1849.
