This specimen was lot 803 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRENCH INDIA: AR fanon, Pondichéry, 1732, issue of the French East India Company for the city of Mahé, a lovely lustrous mint state example, struck during the reign of Louis XV (1715-1774), PCGS graded MS63. Type KM-66 is without the letter P for Pondichery, struck from 1731-1737 and much rarer than KM-67, which was struck intermittently from 1738-1792." These crude coins are shown in copper and silver. The date is shown as "١٧٣٢". One rupee was eight fanon.
