On the lapse of the dynasty in 1637, the duchy was contested between Sweden and Brandenburg until they agreed to partition it by the Peace of Westphalia in 1648. As Sweden gradually weakened, Brandenburg (later Prussia) gradually nibbled away at the Swedish portion until the remainder was seized in 1815. This funeral commemorative was accompanied by a half thaler (KM 144), single thaler (KM 148, KM 149, KM 150, KM 151), triple thaler (KM 153) and quadruple thaler (KM 155). All are rare.
