Stack's Bowers May 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 32645

This specimen was lot 32645 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2024), where it sold for $552. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. 100 Zlotych, 2006-MW. Warsaw Mint. PCGS PROOF-70 Deep Cameo. Struck to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Jan Laski's statue. A flawless example of the type, and the sole example at PCGS to reach this pinnacle grade, out of 15 certified examples." The auctioneers were in an extra hurry to catalog this specimen, which is not Fr-215 but Fr-214, honoring World Cup Soccer.

Recorded mintage: 10,500.
