This specimen was lot 73412 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. 5 Zlotych, 1934. Warsaw Mint. PCGS MS-63 Gold Shield. A fully brilliant example of this early 20th century silver issue." This "Rifle Corps" commemorates the pseudo-sporting associations organized in Austrian Poland before World War One which later became the nucleus of the independent Polish army. One of the organizers, Józef Piłsudski, depicted on the obverse, became the president of the new republic.
