A type which, though frequently found with thick die polish lines over both sides, rarely can be said to come so lofty as this. Lightly dappled over the surfaces, the coin appears well-centered and struck without the least disturbances in the fields. The single finest certified, and one of just two examples of the date we have handled. Ex. Grundy Collection (Heritage Auction #3004, January 2009, Lot 21758). From the Cape Coral Collection of European Crowns." Pisa, after a long career as an independent city state in the Middle Ages, fell under Florentine domination in Renaissance times. After the Florentine republic collapsed, Pisa became part of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, ruled by the Medicis until 1723. This type was struck 1614-20 and is not listed as expensive in worn condition as these usually are.
