This specimen was lot 1176 in Stack's Bowers ANA auction (Chicago, August 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Piacenza. Doppia con Data, 1585-PC. Ottavio Farnese (1556-86). Some natural planchet flaws. Lightly cleaned. VERY RARE. ALMOST UNCIRCULATED." As a doppia was a double scudo, a two doppie was four scudi d'oro. Friedberg notes this scarce type for 1585-89.
