This is one of the less common issues of the nineties. It commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of the American landings at Leyte Gulf during World War Two, the beginning of the Philippines islands' liberation from the Japanese. There exists a companion silver 100 piso (KM 279).
Recorded mintage: 1,000, all proofs.
