This type was struck for the Philippines at the Philadelphia mint 1903-08 altho the dates 1905-08 are proof only. The denomination does not seem to have been popular, accounting for its speedy termination, but many must have been saved as souvenirs, as the coin is common in high grade.
Recorded Mintage: 12,084,000 plus 2,558 proofs.
Specification: 2.59 g, Bronze, 18 mm diameter, plain edge.
