Stack's Bowers 2021 NYINC sale, lot 22313

This specimen was lot 22313 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (Newport Beach, CA, January 2021), where it sold for $1,560. The catalog description[1] noted, "PERU. Nuevo Sol, 1994. Lima Mint. NGC PROOF-69 Ultra Cameo. Pre-Inca Moche cultural artifacts. A highly attractive low mintage modern Peruvian issue displaying hard mirrored fields with frosted cameo devices. Free of tone, haze or fog." An NCLT showing off the Lima mint's newly acquired proof technology.

Recorded mintage: 899 BU + 100 proofs + 3,300 in silver (KM 311) + regular issue (KM 308.1).

Specification: 16.97 g, 0.917 fine gold, 26 mm diameter, 0.500 troy oz AGW.
