This half sol was struck in Lima in 1928 for Peru. This billon coin replaced a .900 fine silver half sol struck 1907-1917. This billon type was issued until 1935, when all silver was removed from the coinage. The SCWC lists a 1928/7 overdate.

Recorded mintage: 3,028,000.

Specification: 12.5 g, 0.500 fine silver, .200 troy oz ASW, reeded edge.
