Sincona sale 51, lot 2860

This specimen was lot 2860 in Sincona sale 51 (Zürich, October 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Republik seit 1822. 5 Soles 1910, Lima. Vorzüglich. (republic of Peru, five soles token of 1910, Lima mint. Extremely fine.)"

This token, which may have been a souvenir given to those who made a donation to the national treasury, was accompanied by a 1 sol in silver. Another issue of tokens was made in 1932 (Tn3, Tn4, Tn5, Tn6).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.34 g, 0.900 fine gold, this specimen 1.69 g.
