This quinto was struck 1888-1917 in Lima, Peru. Most dates are readily available but 1914, 1915 and 1917 are scarce. There are no overdates listed for 1906, probably because none were struck in 1904 or 1905. The type was replaced by a copper-nickel twenty centavos in 1918. An earlier type, with a slightly different figure of seated Liberty, was struck 1863-75 (KM 191).
Recorded mintage: 660,000.
Specification: 5 g, 0.900 fine silver, reeded edge.
Catalog reference: KM 205.2.
