Patiala in 1942, as one of the Punjab states

This specimen was lot 2538 in Sincona sale 77 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 4,125 CHF (about US$5,007 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"INDIA | Princely States | Patiala. Yadvindar Singh, 1994-2005 VS (1937-1948). 2/3 Mohur (19)94 VS (1937). In the name of Ahmad Shah Durrani. Bayoneted rifle on reverse. Selten. NGC MS67. Prachtexemplar. (India, princely states, Patiala, Yadvindar Singh, VS 1994-2005, two-thirds mohur of VS 1994. Rare, Cabinet piece.)"

The state was annexed by Britain in 1845 but stayed loyal during the Mutiny.
