This specimen was lot 22398 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "PARAGUAY. 1/12 Real, 1845. NGC VF Details--Scratches. Struck in the Asuncion Mint." This type was struck in Birmingham, England (KM 1.1) and in Asuncion, Paraguay. They must not have been a success as the SCWC noted that they were revalued at 1/24 real in 1847.
Recorded mintage: 288,000.
