This specimen was lot 2987 in Stephen Album sale 41 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2021), where it sold for $180. The catalog description[1] noted, "PANAMA: AV 20 balboas, 1981, 0.500 fineness, Figure of Eight Butterfly, in original slip, Proof." This is a product of the Franklin mint. There is another twenty balboas for 1981 (KM 71), struck in silver to honor Simon Bolivar.

Recorded mintage: 205 + 4,445 proofs.

Specification: 2.14 g, 0.500 fine gold.
