This specimen was lot 75113 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "PANAMA. 75 Balboas, 1978-FM. Franklin Mint. PCGS PROOF-69 Deep Cameo. Struck to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Independence. A brilliant and pleasing Proof with hard mirrored fields and frosted cameo devices." The Franklin Mint nade a number of NCLT's for Panama before quitting coinage production in the mid 1980's. Panama obtained her independence from Colombia in 1903 in a coup d'etat engineered by the United States so that the Canal could be built.
