This specimen was struck in the United States using dime blanks. The type was issued to honor the fiftieth anniversary of independence from Colombia. Special quarter, half and one balboas (KM 19, 20 and 21) also marked the occasion. All are common.

Recorded mintage: 3,300,000.

Specification: 2.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, .072 troy oz ASW, 17.9 mm diameter, reeded edge.
