This specimen was part of lot 32230 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $5,520. The catalog description[1] noted, "OMAN. Trio of Gold Proof Issues (3 Pieces), AH 1392 (1972/3). Llantrisant Mint. Qaboos bin Said. All PCGS Certified. 1) 100 Baisa. Proof-66 Deep Cameo. 2) 50 Baisa. Proof-65 Deep Cameo. 3) 25 Baisa. Proof-68 Deep Cameo. KM-45. A stunning grouping of RARE Omani Gold Proofs, with mintages of 50, this group offers a commendable group of pieces with hard cameo contrast and alluring eye appeal." This type was struck 1972-75 solely for presentation and no circulation issue exists. Circulation coinage of this design was struck intermittently 1975-97.
