Nordlingen 1492 goldgulden Fr-1794
This specimen was lot 1546 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €1,100 (about US$1,558 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · NÖRDLINGEN, REICHSMÜNZSTÄTTE Friedrich III. von Habsburg, Kaiser 1451-1493. Pfandinhaber Philipp von Weinsberg, 1469-1503. Goldgulden 1492. GOLD. R Sehr schön +. (Germany, city of Nordlingen, imperial mint, Frederick III of Hapsburg, 1451-93, mint leased to Philip of Weinsberg, 1469-1503, goldgulden of 1492. Rare, very fine or better.)"
Nordlingen was an imperial free city which last issued ducats in 1650. It is today in the state of Bavaria near Donauworth. This type is known undated and dated 1491-93. Note the old style '4' in the date.
