Nicaragua 1943 25 centavos

This specimen is from a type struck 1943 only for Nicaragua, and was a wartime substitute for the regular copper-nickel issue (KM 18.1) of 1939-56. The type is common in circulated condition. It was accompanied by brass one (KM 20), five (KM 21) and ten centavos (KM 22). In 1967, the brutal and corrupt Luis Somoza died of a heart attack and was succeeded by his brutal, corrupt and incompetent brother, Anastasio, with baleful consequences for Nicaragua.
