This specimen, struck for Nicaragua by the Heaton mint in Birmingham, England, was the second ten centavos struck for that country. Previously, United States dimes were imported. In 1912 the peso was dropped in favor of the cordoba and new coins issued. This type is not scarce except in Uncirculated or Proof.
Recorded mintage: 1,500,000.
Specification: 2.5 g, 0.800 fine silver, 0.064 troy oz ASW.
