London Mint. Victoria. PCGS VF-35 Gold Shield. Variety with dots before and after 'NEWFOUNDLAND'. An evenly worn and nicely toned example of this SCARCE type." This type was struck fairly steadily for Newfoundland 1865-96. It is a trifle heavier than the Canadian five cent piece of the period.
