This specimen was lot 2624 in Goldberg sale 98 (Los Angeles, June 2017), where it sold for $764. The catalog description[1] noted, "New Zealand. 10 Dollars, 1997. Gabriel's Gully. With original case and certificate. Choice Brilliant Proof." Gabriel's Gully, on the South Island, was the site of a gold rush in 1861.
Recorded mintage: 3,000 in aluminum bronze plus 650 in gold.
