This specimen was lot 72618 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS EAST INDIES. Kingdom of the Netherlands. Cent, 1898. Utrecht Mint; privy mark: broadaxe. Wilhelmina. NGC MS-64 Brown. Dazzling and quite vibrant, this near-Gem radiates with a good deal of brilliance remaining as well." This type was struck with various privy marks 1855-60, 1896-1902, 1906-09, 1912. The subsequent type had a modified reverse.
