This specimen was lot 72586 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $110. The catalog description[1] noted, "NETHERLANDS EAST INDIES. Dutch East India Company. Zeeland. Duit, 1739. PCGS EF-45 Gold Shield. Quite well struck for the type, with alluring red-brown surfaces that are pleasantly free from issue." Zeeland issued this type in copper 1736-52. The subsequent ( KM 152.3) deleted the stars bracketing the date. Besides Zeeland, duits were made by Utrecht, Westfriesland, Gelderland and Gelderland. Most dates are common.
