Sincona sale 59, lot 1799

This specimen was lot 1799 in Sincona sale 59 (Zürich, October 2019), where it sold for 575 CHF (about US$696 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NAURU, Republik seit 1968. 10 Dollars 1993. 25 Jahre Unabhängigkeit. Selten. Nur 1'000 Exemplare geprägt. NGC PF70 Ultra Cameo. (republic of Nauru, ten dollars of 1993, 25th anniversary of independence. Rare. Only 1'000 pieces struck.)"

This is one of the few issues of this tiny, isolated island in the Pacific.

Recorded mintage: 1,000.
