This specimen was lot 17992 in Heritage auction 354 (the Horwedel sale, Long Beach, CA, September 2004), where it sold for $747.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Pasadena, CA - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 606 NB & TC of Pasadena Ch. # 11425. This short lived institution holds the record for any Pasadena bank, taking less than two years to journey from organization to dissolution. Notes from here are rare and seldom offered, with six examples in the census and only two prior appearances at public sale in the past sixty years. This piece is About Fine in appearance, but there are some substantial repairs, most quite well executed but apparent upon close inspection."
