This specimen was lot 21126 in Stack's Bowers ANA Auction (Denver, CO, August 2017), where it sold for $2,232.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Naples & Sicily. 10 Tornesi, 1819. PCGS MS-64 BN Secure Holder. Five pointed star facing down, rounded points. Sharply struck with a bold portrait. Lovely mahogany hues with mint orange highlights around the legends and devices." This the first and only issue of this denomination by this ruler after Ferdinand's restoration. The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies was annexed to Italy in 1860 but remains poor, backward and corrupt.
