Naples 1810 3 grana KM-254
This specimen was lot 47155 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Oklahoma City, OK, August 2025), where it sold for $105. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Naples & Sicily. 3 Grana, 1810. Joachim Murat. NGC VF-25. From the Richard Margolis Collection." After the collapse of the Parthenopean Republic in 1799, king Ferdinand was restored. French troops returned in 1805 and Napoleon's brother Joseph was installed as king (see Dav-165). In 1808, he was called away to be king of Spain and one of Napoleon's generals, Joachim Murat, assumed the throne. This output was shared with KM 253, which has the date below the wreath and Murat's title spelled as "PRIN." The type is common in worn condition but very scarce choice.
