This specimen was lot 2179 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Akbar I, 1556-1605, AR square 1/2 rupee, Lahore, IE36, bold XF." This type was struck at Lahore during Ilahi years 36-38 and 42. The Ilahi Era (IE) was a solar calendar used during Akbar's reign for the dating of coinage and was abandoned a few years after his death.
