This specimen was lot 78006 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it sold for $125. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Mughal Empire. Rupee, AH 995 (1586/7). Ahmadabad Mint. Akbar (the Great). PCGS AU-53." This type was struck for Akbar AH 987-1001 along with the traditional round rupees (type 80). Nine mints struck this type.
