Mughal Empire AH 933-Qandahar shahrukhi
This specimen was lot 640 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it sold for $720. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Babur, 3rd reign, 1504-1530, AR shahrukhi, Qandahar, AH933, beautiful strike, with almost no weakness, nicer than any of the examples filed on CoinArchives, VF-XF, RR." The shahrukhi was originally a silver coin minted by Shah Rukh of the Timurid Empire (r. 1405-47) and was adopted by the early Mughal Emperors (Babur, Humayan and Akbar). It was eventually superseded by the rupee. Babur (r. 1526-30) established Mughal power in India by destroying the Delhi sultanate at the battle of Panipat (1526) and the Rajputs at the battle of Khanwa (1527).
