This specimen was lot 673 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $540. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Shah Alam Bahadur, 1707-1712, AR heavy rupee, Tatta, AH1123 year 6, special issue with both sides in a hexagonal border, XF, RR. The heavy rupees of Shah Alam Bahadur were struck at a few mints, principally in AH1123 with regnal year 5, more rarely 1123 year 6, plus a very few examples of 1122 year 4 and 1122 year 5, and only 1122 year 5 for Tatta. The analysis of these heavy rupees by Alan Deshazo was published in the ONS Journal #220 (summer 2014). He shows that at least 10 mints produced these, all very rare, and production was mandated by an Imperial Farman that was retracted very shortly afterwards." This rare type is listed for year 5 only. The SCWC mentions KM 349.1 (Akbarnagar), |KM 349.2 (Azimabad), 349.3 (Lahore) and 349.4 (Shahjahanabad). All are rare.
