Steve Album sale 55, lot 2315

This specimen was lot 2315 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $420. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Akbar I, 1556-1605, AR square rupee, Bangala, AH1017, posthumous issue with the "Kabe Roshan" couplet, rare date, with 3 banker's marks on the edge, lovely XF-AU, R." This rupee was struck AH 1009-1011 and 1018 and Bangala was the sole mint for this scarce type. No regnal date is present.
