Steve Album Auction 52, lot 695

This specimen was lot 695 in Steve Album Auction 52 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2025), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "MUGHAL: Muhammad Shah, 1719-1748, AR 1/2 rupee, Murshidabad, year 29, bold strike, nicely toned, XF-AU, R, ex SARC Auction 17, Lot 1235. This appears to be the only example of KM-433.8 offered in any public auction other than one piece sold as part of a group in India." This type is listed for Murshidabad for years 12, 17, 29. Fifteen mints participated in this issue.
