The circulation issue of 1970-83 is common but the proofs, struck 1983 only, are scarce. Open and closed "8" varieties exist for the date. This one honors a hero of the war of independence, José Morelos.

Recorded mintage: 208,300,000 closed 8 plus 55,140,000 open 8.
