This specimen was lot 1366 in Stephen Album sale 30 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2018), where it sold for $381.87. The catalog description[1] noted, "MALTA: Ramon Despuig, 1736-1741, AR 4 tari, 1737, EF." In a monetary system borrowed from the Sicilians, twenty grani = one tari, twelve tari = one scudo and thirty tari = one piastra. This one year type is scarce.
