Künker Auction 439, lot 2138

This specimen was lot 2138 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €16,000 (about US$22,011 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"MALTA, JOHANNITERORDEN Adrien de Wignacourt, 1690-1697. Zecchino 1694, Valletta. 3,44 g Der Heilige Johannes steht nach r. und überreicht dem vor ihm knienden Großmeister das Banner des Ordens//Wappen des Großmeisters. GOLD. RR Leicht gewellt, sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Order of Malta, Adrien de Wignacourt, 1690-1697, zecchino of 1694, Valletta mint. obverse: St. John the Baptist stands right, handing the banner of the Order to the grandmaster; reverse: grandmaster's arms. Very rare, slightly wavy, very fine to extremely fine.)"
