This specimen was lot 2640 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "MADRAS PRESIDENCY: AE dub, Machhlipatan (Masulipatnam), AH1196 / year 22, issue of the time of Shah Alam II (1759-1806), VF, R. Masulipatnam was acquired by the British East India Company in 1759 (AH1173)." This copper dub or twenty cash was struck years 1174/1, 1175/4, 1180/9, 1186/16, 1189/20, 1191,1199, 1213 and 1214. It is scarce in nice condition.
Recorded mintage: unknown but common.
Specification: 13-14 g, copper, 20 mm diameter, this specimen 13.37 g.
