This specimen was lot 2820 in Stephen Album sale 45 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2023), where it sold for $390. The catalog description[1] noted, "MADEIRA: Maria II, 1834-1853, AE 20 reis, 1842, brown, two-year type, EF to About Unc, ex Joe Sedillot Collection." This type was struck 1842 and 1852 for use on the Portuguese island of Madeira along with a similar five réis (KM 1) and ten réis (KM 2).
