This specimen was lot 2010 in Jean Elsen sale 163 (Brussels, November 2025), where it sold for €170 (about US$196 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ITALIE, LUCQUES, République (1369-1799), AR scudo, 1747. D/ Écu couronné entre deux palmes, dans un cartouche orné. R/ Saint Martin donnant la moitié de son manteau au mendiant. (Italy, republic of Lucca, silver scudo of 1747. Obverse: crowned arms between two palms in an ornate cartouche; reverse: St. Martin divides his cloak with the beggar. Very Fine.)"

This type was struck 1735-50 with similar types struck until 1756. The wear pattern on this specimen suggests it spent a long period as a pocket piece, a common fate for coins with religious designs.

Recorded mintage: unknown.
