This specimen was lot 34575 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Lubeck. Free City gold Ducat ND (ca. 1500) AU53 PCGS. St. John standing on both sides within oval cartouche. A distinguished late medieval gold coin." The city of Lubeck, on the Baltic Sea, struck ducats until the eighteenth century.
